The S&Ds strongly condemn Russia's illegal and unjustified aggression in Ukraine, standing with the courageous Ukrainian people in their fight for freedom, safety, democracy, and human rights. We are unwavering in our support for Ukraine and will continue to urge EU member states and international partners for assistance to halt Russia's war. Our commitment extends to helping rebuild Ukraine and advocating for its integration into the European Union.

For the S&D Group, women’s rights and gender equality are crucial; not a cherry on top. As long as half the population is left behind, we cannot have a fair and gender-equal society. Our goal is to create an inclusive, feminist Europe, where everyone can have the same opportunities and rights, no matter their gender.

The climate emergency is the biggest crisis humanity has ever faced, and our response to it will determine our future. We helped get the Green Deal for Europe – to make our planet the key priority and set out plans for how to get to net-zero emissions by 2050 – while leaving no one behind.

In order to build a truly united and forward-thinking Europe, it is imperative that we prioritise inclusivity in our digital realm, ensuring that every individual and community has equal access and opportunity to thrive in the digital age.

Since 2020, the S&D Group has called for the creation of a genuine European Health Union to increase the EU’s competence in health, to learn from the Covid-19 pandemic and to better cater to the health needs of all citizens in the European Union.

Standing up to the far right is crucial if we want to keep our values intact and protect everyone's rights, including the most vulnerable in society. By standing up against these ideologies, we, the S&D Group, are working to stop discrimination and make sure our society is fair and inclusive.
